Where We Went
Reaching one of the most remote communities meant travelling rough, hard-to-pass roads. The team went anyway. This was among the most challenging and impactful relief missions of the COVID era, bringing relief goods to indigenous families that few others were able to reach
In April 2020, 63 indigenous families in Community Maamot received relief goods. Among those seldom reached by outside assistance. Staff organized overnight packing and delivered the same day.
119 families received assistance including those in the poorest areas and IP tribes residing in the area. Goods included rice, canned goods, and other essential items.
Meals were delivered to frontliners manning checkpoints 24/7 during the pandemic lockdown period. These workers had little to no support from other organizations during that time.
Inakay maintains a monthly budget for emergency medical assistance. Beneficiaries may request help for medicines, laboratory tests, and other medical needs. Any poor community member may also apply for assistance.
